Ecologías en Movimiento
2023
Venice, Italy

The Chilean Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale, curated by Gonzalo Carrasco with Alejandro Beals and Loreto Lyon (of Beals Lyon Arquitectos), takes the form of an installation of 250 small spheres, each containing a seed from Chile's native plant inventory. Combining architecture, botany, and landscape research, Moving Ecologies addresses the ecological challenges facing the country's cities and territories — from degraded soils to fire-damaged ecosystems — and proposes seeds as the raw material of a future that will be not only built, but also sown.
